Municipal Competitiveness Index (MCI)

The Municipal Competitiveness Index (MCI) is an integrated measurement of the business environment of the top 100 most densely populated municipalities of El Salvador.  The MCI allows the classification of municipalities according to nine management and governance areas.  These areas lead to the establishment of a business-oriented climate that attracts and maintains investment, creating local employment.  The 2009 MCI is the first index in its type in El Salvador, and a second index was carried out in 2011.
